It’s human nature to think that because things have happened or operated a certain way in the past, they will largely continue to work that way. Twenty years ago, Google (or Alphabet) didn’t exist; and not a long time before that, the internet didn’t exist. Consider finding your way today to your destination without electronic maps (remember Melway)?
That’s why it’s worth considering occasionally what the future might hold. Things will simply not be the same in 10 or 20 years and looking forward can both help to make money and save money in all sorts of areas, such as in real estate. Consider design. How many homes in the future will require a garage? With self driving cars and Uber or it’s equivalent, how long before personal car ownership will be “so yesterday”? Don’t scoff at this. Futurists are already predicting that there will be close to no requirements for garages within 20 years. You may not agree but watch this space…
Nobody truly knows exactly what will change and there will certainly be quite a number of surprises.
